I’ve missed you.”

                                                              “Serah, I’m sorry.”

                            “It’s okay.”

╌╌ Serah recalled the memory over again. All of it…felt so real, the two sisters pulling each other into a tight embrace, exchanging unspoken words that were supposed to be cherished to their bond. And all of it was was just a ghost of a dream, as they said- but the memories were real. That made her happy to know, she could face the future with a smile upon her face; even if she was facing it alone now.

A new gate had laid it’s path before them and even so Noel inched back from the portal. Serah tried to motivate him but he simply said that ‘it was something she had to face alone.’ A pink brow still arched from his words, like…he knew what was within entering. Encouraged by her companions actions she bravely passed through but the idea of leaving Noel behind made Serah feel uncomfortable- nothing good ever came out when the two were separated.

She had to brace for the impact as the golden dust pushed her onto the ground, leaving mildew covering her frame for a short while. Serah inhaled deeply. Fluttering the lashes open her eyes met the dirt floor before flicking the upwards. She gaped at the sight. It was Bodhum, without a doubt, she could never forget the seaside village she once resided in- Cocoon’s crystal shell laid in a heap and clear for her to see from where she stood. This was Noel’s future, he once told. Visions of the blank sky and desolated landscape, this is what she used to see now was a stark reality. It was the reminder of they’re cause, this bleak timeline of deterioration to end all life of humanity was what they were trying to save, her sister’s will.

Able to walk through the towns road formations with ease, she approaches where her home once was…the structure was no where to be seen. In sadness she brings her hands close to her chest, as if she was sending a prayer but her lips never spoke a word. Suddenly a noise jumps the young girl out of her state, spinning around with such astonishment. Never had she expected of the moment to come. “…Light..ning?” Uttering the name slowly, her eyes stayed glued towards the other, without realizing the hand that reached out towards her, to feel her sister’s touch, to know that she was really there and it was not just an illusion manufactured. “Am I dreaming right now?"
