"Huh?" No way, that was supposed to be his line.  He was supposed to help her, not the other way around. Pursing his lips, he tied the other skate energetically before hopping to his feet. Beaming with confidence he held out his hand, "Nah, I’m sure we can do this!"

It wasn’t until then that he realized her comments had made him nervous. Serah was seriously pretty, but Ven knew he couldn’t let that distract him. He was here to ice skate with a friend. A part of him yearned to know her story though. How had she ended up here? What kind of life did she live before she came here? She was Lightning’s sister, and in a sense, that made her his aunt. But did she know about that? He’d almost forgotten that himself. Those were the things going through his mind as he helped her up and out onto the ice.

╌╌ He seemed adamant about being displeased with having a friend acting like a babysitter, but she wanted to make certain his confidence never wavers- or was it she who was nervous? The smile grew taking the open hand into hers and using his weight to carry her upright breathing out a sound of agreement and brushing away any snow on her wear. Their aim was towards the temporary rink, trudging through with their skates her being was overcome with a feeling of a brief nervousness, one that washes over in only a matter of moments.

Serah didn’t know what it’d be like stepping onto the ice. Most of her attention was drawn taking the first few steps, she just had to remind herself it was like rollerblading and not distress over the differences. Suddenly a thought came to her. Whenever she used to be nervous or scared, her parents used to just talk to her about other things in order to forget about her worries. The two barely knew each other, it was the perfect remedy. "So Ven, how about we tell each other things about ourselves, just to get our mind off of these things- and besides…I’d like to get to know you a little better.”
